Semmes, Alabama 36575 Send All Correspondance To: Mailing Address DOCTRINAL STATEMENT As a Christian body of believers, we the W.O.R.D. Ministries, Inc., subscribe to the following declaration of things, which are most surely believed among us. To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to the Word of God to the very ends of the Earth and to encourage Christians in the living of their faith, in accordance with God's Word by the spoken word, by radio, by recordings, by printed word and by personal evangelism, and to work for the salvation of souls. 1. THE SCRIPTURES We believe the Bible is the Word of God, both Old and New Testament are verbally inspired of God, being the revelation of God to man. We believe the Holy Bible is the infallible, authoritative, and only divine rule of Christian faith and conduct. 2. THE GODHEAD We believe that there is but one true and living God Eternally existing in three persons namely the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of a virgin. We believe Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and raised from the dead. We believe He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us. 3. FALL OF MAN AND REDEMPTION We believe that man was created by God and made in the likeness and express image of God. Because Adam fell by transgression, sin entered into the world. In Genesis 3:15 the promise of redemption was given, in John19:28-30 is the fulfillment, the plan of salvation is understood more clearly in Romans 5:1-2. 4. SALVATION AND THE NEW BIRTH We believe that salvation is the gift of God to man, made possible by the faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that conviction by the Holy Spirit is the first step toward salvation which brings forth repentance of sin and is necessary for forgiveness. We believe that justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. 5. SANTIFICATION We believe in sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ through the Word and by the Holy Ghost. 6. BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST We believe that holiness to be God's standard of living for his people. We believe that the baptism of the Holy Ghost is a gift from God to all believers and is subsequent to the new birth. We believe that in speaking in other tongues as the spirit gives utterance is the initial evidence of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. 7. DIVINE HEALING We believe that divine healing is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is available to all who believe. 8. THE CHURCH We believe that the true Church is built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ. We believe the Church is the body of Christ, The Body of Believers in Christ. We believe Christ is the Head of this Body of true Believers. 9. THE MINISTRY We believe that God, through the Holy Ghost, calls such as He will to serve as evangelists, pastors, teachers, apostles and prophets and equips them that He calls specifically with talents and gifts to that particular office or offices for the edifying of the Body of Christ. We believe that under no circumstance should we lay hands on to ordain or set apart to any such office unless the calling is clearly evident. 10. ORDINANCES A. The Lord's Supper: We believe the Lord's Supper is a commandment of Jesus Christ, and is a memorial to his death and resurrection and is for Christian believers who are in right standing with and before the Lord. B. Water Baptism: We believe that water baptism is by immersion, and is a direct command from Jesus Christ for all true believers. C. Washing Of The Saint's Feet: We believe that the washing of the Saint's feet is a command of Jesus Christ according to John 13:14-15. 11. THE FINAL ABODE OF THE SAINTS We believe that Jesus will return again in the same manner in which He went away; to receive the saints unto Himself. We believe His coming is imminent, and when He comes, the righteous dead (the dead in Christ) shall rise first, then the living saints will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. We believe that after the tribulation, He shall return to the earth with His saints to reign as King of Kings for a thousand years. We believe these saints will reign with Christ as priests of God for a thousand years. Afterward the saints shall live forever in the new heaven and the new earth forever. 12. THE FINAL ABODE OF THE WICKED We believe that there is eternal punishment for the wicked, anyone who dies physically in his sins without Christ. We believe that this place of punishment is a literal lake of fire according to Revelation 20:12-15. We believe that according to these scriptures "that whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Click Here For A Map To The Church
